Reviewing the Reviews of the Fein Multi Master Tool
0 Comments | Posted by in Uncategorized
Most of the reviews I have read on the Fein Multi Master I think are pretty much getting it right. This latest iteration of the fine, well-made remodeling and renovation tool is generally thought to be the best one that Fein has ever come out with. But, with a price of over $400 for the top Multi Master, is it really worth your hard earned money?
Fein held the patent for the oscillating technology used in the Multi Master for a long time, but now that this patent has expired there are a number of similar tools being brought to market by competitors. Rockwell and Bosch are just two big names that also have an oscillating tool for remodeling that has interchangeable accessories. Of these, I think that the Bosch is the best รข?? they make great tools in general and in the case of this new Multi Master knock-off, the Bosch tool actually uses the same blades as the Multi Master. The one sticking point if you want to get the Bosch tool is that the corded version is not available in the US right now, only the battery powered version of the tool can be purchased. I have no clue why, but that means that you will need to get a couple of extra batteries to always have charged battery ready. Plus, the cordless version of the Bosch has less power.
One thing that Fein has done extremely well with the Multi Master over the years is make a solid tool that has accessories that fit great and work great. The newest version of the tool is no different. I have always loved the sander attachment that comes with the Multi Master and if you have never had the chance to use the tool before and have only used an orbital sander you will be quite shocked by how much better the sander attachment on the multi-purpose tool works than that on the dedicated sanding tool. All of the other attachments work well too, especially the E-blades, but you need to be careful cutting things like metal with an E-blade and I would actually opt for something like a reciprocating saw instead for this type of job.
Most reviewers agreed on all of these points. The Fein Multi Master has always been the crown jewel in the stable of tools that Fein makes and this latest version does not disappoint and is easily the best of all the oscillating multi-function remodeling and renovation tools.
